Hello,
the Boresch name is german, but came out from a strange german slang. In Luxemburg they call this slang "Luxemburgish" and in Belgium, France and West-Germany they call it "Mosel-Frankish". The name has it´s origin from two smal towns close to
Trier and the former US-Air-base Bitburg (now Spangdahlem).
The first name was Berg (means hill, but came from the town Berg near Bitburg direction to Wittlich (both are cities).
In the slang the people called every house by name and so after some generations the Berg family that lived in such a house gove their name to the house in genitiv form
Berg--> Borg or Boreg = Boresch (speak Bor-ash in english).
The towns from where the name originated from was Scharfbillig and Roehl (both near Bitburg).
