Hi Crystal,
I would guess anything that sounds like either. in 1900 they were under Meyers. But it is suppose to be Myhrs. I don't know how they would have transcribed it.
Thank you,
Margit

I'll have to get more information.

Thank you for trying!

I am looking for info on my ancestor: James Gardner. The last name may be spelled Gardiner or Gardener. He was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1860. Day and Month are not known. He was listed in 1880 Philly census but I can't find any other info except he married Abbie Thomas in 1887 in the Philadelphia area. I am told he later lived in Chalfonte, PA but I can't confirm this. His parents were Joseph and Mary Gardner of Philadelphia. I believe James was a mill worker for many years. Maybe he will be shown in later PA census records.

Thank you for the lookup attempt on my ancestor James Gardner. He has been a struggle to research. I am fairly new to genealogy but have tried everything I have been told to research him but just have had no luck. I don't know why he's hiding!

Hi Judith,
Can you give the names of the children of James and Abbie? Abbie was more then likely a nickname.

Hi Judith,
I found your James and Abbie Flora Gardner here in the 1920 Census of America.
1920 U.S. Census • PennsylvaniaPhiladelphiaPhiladelphia • ED# 506
Just the two of them.
James is 60 and Abbie Flora is 58.
They are living on Krams Avenue.
I don't have access to any earlier census records, but possibly someone else does on the list.
Margit

Thank you so much for replying to my request. I really appreciate the info you sent. It is the first thing I have had verified since James was a child in the 1880 census in Philadelphia.

I am fairly new to genealogy and am having a lot of trouble researching my ancestors. Your info gives me something definite to add to my research. Thanks again.
