I too have Layton ancestors who moved to NE. in 1888, in fact to Odell, Gage Co. NE. which is only about 20 miles south and east of Fairbury, NE.

I have however checked my file and cannot find a Nathan Layton. Who were his parents?
and where were they from?

Through the generations, my Laytons went from SC>KY>IL>NE
