Our Robert GRAHAM married a Jean .... and their nine were b Kilmarnock, AYR.

Now, we thought the last one, the #9, was our GG Grandfather, however, I've found a Mary b 1841, m to a McGregor, and when I found her marriage certificate, it stated the mother as Jane Picken.

Two of the children (#7 and #8) have marriage certificates at the same time in Ontario, Canada, and the name of the mother is the same, Jane Picken.

SO - I'm wondering if you have AYR records for siblings, b about 1797-1803.

In the Kilmarnock 1841 census, both Robert and Jean (Jane in the marriage certificates and called "Jennie"), were noted as 40, so they would have been b about 1791-1801.

Since you are in AYR - do you have a Thomas m to Agnes Andrew by 1775 ... with youngest daughter Jean m 1 FEB 1819 to Robert GRIM (misspelling of GRAHAM or GRAYHAM per 1841 census)? I have the names of the siblings of Jean, children of Thomas & Agnes ... Kilmarnock marriages.

Hi Russell, I have been to Canada a couple of times to research the Stirrett family. I have one paper where Hamilton Stirrett and his son James are listed as strays in the 1871 census of Grey County, Egremont Township,Normanby Section. This paper was from the Ontario Genealogy Society. One of the family trees I have had a chance to look at, has George & Jane (Park) Stirrett and their family. I do not see where Robert Stirrett is listed, but I understand that one of his sons was George Hunter Stirrett. This Robert Stirrett was born @ 1857 and died in 1933. Do you by any chance know if this is the child of George and Jane (Park) Stirrett? Please let me know how I can better research this family. Thank you very much. Carolyn Stirrett

Are you still there? Saw your post on a search for Dreghorn (the place). There can't be that many Stirretts in Ayrshire, can there? I'm trying to trace back a Margaret Stirret, apparently born 1766 in Stevenston, Ayr. She married Alexander Watson in Dreghorn in 1788. Her parents appear to be John Stirrat and Margaret Johnston. They apparently married 1760 in Dalry, Ayr. A search for possible parents of John on the FamilySearch IGI turned up only 3 possibles, all of which somewhat unlikely: James Stirrat and Jean Bell (John 1729 Dalry), John Starret and Janet Tailor (John 1730 Kilwinning), and John Sterrat and Elizabeth Anderson (John 1743 Beith).

Just thought I'd add these names to the general confusion.
