I think I may have come across information for you:

Jose Agustin Mota married Ana de Santiago Carlos on Nov 19, 1788 in Momax, Zacatecas. Had several children, including Ma. Casilda Mota Carlos christened on Apr 9, 1791 in Momax, Zacatecas.

Jose Agustin Mota was christened on Oct 16, 1763 as Josseph Augustin Mota Torres in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas. His parents, Juan Andres de Mota (Campos) and Maria Polonia de Torres (Robles) were married on May 12, 1755 in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas. They had serveral other children.

Ana de Santiago Carlos parents Josseph Antonio Carlos de Godoy and Antonia Getrudis Raygoza were married on Apr 29, 1767 in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas. They had serveral other children.

I saw your message on the zacatecas/Mota message board and had to reply. Hope you get this. My fathers' family is from that area, and the names in his family are Alvarez, Campos, Mota, Robles. I am in particular looking for an Alvarez connection. My grandfather was Melesio Alvarez. He married Sara Campos Mota in 1914 or 1915. They had one child, my father, Salvador Alvarez Campos. Melesio died in 1915 as a very young man. Later Grandmother Sara married Valintin Robles. Do any of these names sound familiar. Please reply. Thanks.

Hi. I'm searching for my husband's family roots. The surname is Miramontes and his dad (Alfredo Miramontes) and grandfather (Aureliano Miramontes) were from Los Reales, Zacatecas which I understand is near Momax. Do you happen to have any links to this particular part of the Miramontes family? Any information that you may have would be greatly appreciated. Sorry I don't have any information on Aureliano Miramontes. If you ever find out the name of his wife or his parents, let me know, and I can re-look the names up in my family tree. Angie, I'm a decendant of the Godoys of Zacatecas, it seems that there where two families some how there are connected the carlos-godoy and godoy in the census of 1754 of tlaltenango,zacatecas Rancho de luis carlos, luis a widower his sons were joseph carlos,andres carlos , diego carlos,pedro carlos ,manuel carlos,joseph antonio carlos,bentura carlos,daughter ana carlos and catarina carlos.

I have heard the surname Carlos de Godoy, but I am not researching that surname. But many of the families from Momax and Tlaltenango, Zacatecas tie into to each other. I am researching many families from this area including the surname Godina which sometimes get confused with Godoy or Godinez. I know some people who are researching the surname Carlos de Godoy. Perhaps you can email me outside of the message board. I am also researching the surnames Marquez and Sanchez. But my Marquez family are from Colotlan, Jalisco which is very close to Momax, Zac. Some of the the Marquez family married into a Sanchez family. But I am actually related to a different Sanchez family. The Sanchez family I am following are from Totatiche, Jalisco which is near Colotlan. They are also sometimes located in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas.

I also have De La O and Llamas but these are two maternal lines which I have very little information on.

Maria Crecencia MOTA was my husband's g-grandmother b. Velas, Momax, Zac 8 May 1863. Her parents were Jose Crecencio Nepomuseno MOTA and Maria Rafaela de la Merced SERRANO. Jose Estanislao MOTA and Maria Romona RAMIRES Padilla were her paternal grandparents. this line goes back to Felis MOTA m. to Antonia J. de CAMPOS in the mid 1700s.
We also have the grandmother to Maria Rafaela de la Merced SERRNAO as Maria Josefa MOTA her father was Joseph Francisco Ricardo MOTA b. 1752 and Mathiana Sesaria de Robalcaba b. 1753 and this MOTA line also goes back to Felis MOTA and Antonia Jossepha de CAMPOS.
