Hi Ed,
It,s me again, Donna who just replied to your query a few minutes ago before I read all of the questions and responses. Both James T and his father, William H. are buried in Ridgeville at the Hillside Cemetery. I just saw their gravestones a month ago and I have pictures. I could send them to you with the family history notes that I have.

Thanks Donna. I would very much be interested in any information that you might have regarding James. Altho, I have been unable to substantiate it, from census records it appears that James'father was William H. and his mother was Abigal. This has been a very difficult branch of the family for me to track down, but it appears to finally be coming together. If you're interested, I'll be glad to send you information on my grandfather William and maybe that will help you solve the mystery of James son by his first marriage.

Every little bit helps. Thanks for forwarding your information. Not too long ago I was able to also locate the marriage record, but I missed the occupation part as mill worker. I was of the opinion that James father was William H., but the marriage record shows him as Henry. Maybe he went by his middle name rather than first name of William. Thanks again.

Hi Len...Sorry that I have not replied earlier, but I have been away from my computer. I am a descendant of James Thomas Gilmore, son of William Henry. James was married to Agnes Battson, born in London, England. James and Agnes separated sometime after the birth in 1888 of my grandfather William Charles Gilmore. James father was William Henry Gilmore, b 03 Mar 1833 St. Johns, Ontario, d 26 Oct 1921 North Pelham and mother Ellen Mc Cabe. William Henry's parents were William Gilmore born at Port Dalhousie, Ontario and Abigail Smith, b 1805, at St. David's Ontario, d 1888. Benjamin Gilmore born about 1760 was his father and his mother was Ann Disher born about 1770.

Much of this information was provided to me by Donna. I know that conflicts in information pop up occasionally and they are hard to resolve.

I'll try to get back to you later with a little more info. Ed

Hi Len,
Thanks for your reply. Sorry I haven't responded sooner-but I- like Ed-haven't had a chance to get to genealogy over Christmas. I am a great-grandaughter of James T. Gilmore, from his second wife-Charlotte Thorld. My records show that his father was William Henry(1833),married to Ellen McCabe,Death Cert.-#018654, and his father was William (1799) as well, married to Abigail(Smith??). I have census records to show these relationships. What records to you have to support the Anna Nunn relationship. I have never seen her name before and would be very interested in more info. Was she an earlier wife? William is also one of Benjamins' sons, a brother to Henry as recorded in Benjamin's Upper Canada Land Petition. As I am working towards UE certification through Benjamin Gillmore as well as others, I would very much appreciate any info and sources you have. Thanks again for responding.

Hi Donna,

Unfortunately, I don`t have any records to prove this relationship, as I find it hard to do research in Canada through the internet. What I do have is three different Tree`s I`ve found. One is from Root`sweb.com World Connect Project Maxwell-Seaman Family Tree, Entries: 7813, Updated: 04 April 2001, Contact: Prectoria Maxwell, E-Mail: tory6208@cs.com, The other two were found in Ancestry World Tree 1) Abbe, Spragg, Stoddard-Michigan and Ontario Lines entries: 2078 Updated: 18 November 1999, contact-Vicki Dulebolhn E_Mail: vdulebohn@aol.com, 2) Zavitz, Savitz, Sevits, Sevitz, Zewitz, Augustine, Stoner, Sherk, Fretz Entries: 56587 Updated: 15 May 2009, Contact: D. Zavitz E-Mail: dzavitz@yahoo.com. These are the ones that I choose to use as they had the most information but there are several more with the same connection, who knows if they all copied from the one`s that I did or not. I have also been in contact with a Tom Nunn, E-Mail: tnunn@sympatico.ca in December 2002. He had a tree in Ancestry World Tree, He had a connection there to his personal website that I went into and looked around. I cannot find this website now. Anyway, I checked through his website and he claimed several of the same people in his tree that I had in mine. At this point I can only assume that she is a connection until I can find futher documentation. I also have been in contact with a Corlene Taylor who lives in Beamsville, Ontario at 4506 Lakeside Dr. R.R.1, LOR 1B1. She connects through the May side of the family, and she has given me much information, and I believe the information below comes from her.
Now I have Anna Nunn b.1814 d.? married to William Gillmore 28 February 1829 b.1799 d.1877. Children are: Phily b.1827, Alexander b.1832, Jane b.1835, Catherine b.1837, James M. b.1837. I show a marriage time for Abigail bet. 1842-1851 as she starts to show up in the 1851 census, and her son William H. b. 1833. This is where it gets fuzzy because his age is in the middle of the other kids births. Also I just noticed that Phyly`s birth is in 1827 and William and Anna arn`t married until 1829. Any help you can share would be much appreciated. I have only just started to work on this side of my tree again after several years of leaving it alone.- Len
