Charles Dunn and Rebecca Lagge were in Riviere du Loup, Maskinonge 1783. I am looking for any information as to the history of that area from 1774 to 1790. The other families that are in the area at that time are Armstrong, Remington. McCraw. These families and several others after 1811 would leave that area and settle in Berthier. They would be the founders of Lake Maskinonge Settlement in Brandon Berthier and would call themselves Loyalists. They are all of the Anglican faith. Anyone out there searching for English speaking people in Three Rivers prior,during and a after the Revolutionary War?? I have lots of Anglican records to share.

Wondering if you had any information on a Margaret Dunn married to Jean Baptiste Quesnel around 1820 in possibly Huntingdon County, Quebec. I know they had at least two children named Catherine (married to Pierre Leblanc) and Margaret (married to Phillippe Prieur). I have no information on Margaret Dunn at all. Can you help? Thanks

I have looked to see if I have a Margaret Dunn b. abt.1802,I don't have her. William Dunn and Isabella McCraw were married in 1804 at Sorel. Charles Dunn and Mary Hebbard married in 1809. I have a record for a Pricella daughter of James Dunn and wife Ann born Dec. 13, 1804. Sponsors were James Johnston, Susannah Clifford and Mary Morrison. Archives Three Rivers: 149/50 microfilm CS88Q4R44
Maybe you could check the Anglican records for Three Rivers and also Christ Church at William Henry/Sorel.
The above James may have had children prior to 1804. Good Luck

There are two Rivière-du-Loups in Quebec. The one in Maskinongé is now called Louiseville. The other, on the south shore of the St Lawrence is called Rivière-du-Loup. I believe Lucien Rivest published a répertoire of protestant marriages for the Joliette area which has some of the families you seek.
Of course Three Rivers is a corruption of Trois-Rivières.

Still looking for information on Charles Dunn 1778 in the Riviere du Loup, Makinonge area (known today as Louiseville). Charles' sons William married Isabella McCraw, Charles Jr. married Mary Hibbard, daughters Elizabeth and Isabella married David and Edward Armstrong (brothers and sons of Loyalist Jesse Armstrong), and daughter Margaret married Robert Turner. Around 1814--1820 they all went to St. Gabriel de Brandon along with Remington, Page, Hope, Doyle,and Morrison families. I have alot to share and hoping for more on Charles Dunn and Rebecca Loggie's origin prior to 1788.

Quesnel (aka LouisJohn) was born 1801 and perhaps had a first wife named Marguerite and perhaps a child named Jean Bt. Quesnel born about 1830. Our ancestor Jean Bte. (Louis) Quesnel did marry Julie Jasmin in 1848 in St. Anicet. Pat Q.

Hello, I am researching Robert Turner. I have Robert and Marguerite Dunn in the Maskinonge area, with records for four children. Although, I do not have a marriage record for them. After 1818 they seem to disappear. You mention that members of the various Dunn families move. Did Robert and Marguerite also relocate? Do you have further information on this family?
