Surnames: O'Shea
Being that Hoboken, NJ is such a small town, there has to be some kind of connection.

My information is as follows:

My father was born Francis Patrick O'Shea. His biological father, Francis (Frank), was only about 18 - 19 years old and his mother was a Marie. She was younger than Frank. They were forced to get married when she was pregnant. They apparently loved each other, but the families clashed over the whole pregnancy. It wasn't like today, obviously.

Marie and Frank wound up suffering from the family issues, and they were forced to separate. She was young and foolish and Frank wanted nothing to do with my father. Marie financially could not take care of my Dad, so she would leave my Dad with her married sister and their family. Then Marie and Frank would get back together, and then would drag my Dad with them, then they would separate, she would drop my Dad back at her sister's house... and so on and so on... he was tossed back and forth so many times, so finally Marie's sister offered to adopt my Dad. The O'Shea's fought the adoption and lost because apparently Frank had a history of poor employment, bar brawls, etc. He never came to see my Dad again after that, and Marie just continued to chase Frank around and continue their on-again, off-again relationship.

She refused to talk to any of us about Frank in later years and she died without our knowing much about him. I always wondered about him, if he ever regretted not seeing my Dad throughout the years and if I had some biological uncles, cousins, etc. out there. It has always been a "hole" for me - although my "Adoptive Grandpa" was the best, I always wondered what my real Granfather was like... I am now 40 years old and still wonder about him.

I know that Frank had a brother(s) and that there must be copies of the adoption papers out there SOMEWHERE... I would just love a picture of him or SOMETHING!

Thanks for listening...
