My great-grandmother was Amanda J. (McGinnis) Bundy. When my grandmother passed away this year I was given info on Enoch McGinnis, Francis McGinnis, and a James McGinnis (birthdates, marriage info, etc matching your post). Would be willing to trade copies of docs/pictures in my possession. If interested please send my an e-mail to rogersjunk@mchsi.com

I would love to see what you have. There are several of us on the McGinnis rootsweb list from this line. I think we all could add to your information. As far a photos go, I know I don't have any of William McGinnis, Jane Coffer's father in law, I do have a few of Dr. Charles "Ellis" Johnson, Isaac Johnson's and Caroline Ann McGinnis' son. Caroline Ann was the youngest child of William McGinnis by his second wife Jane Brown. In other words she was a half sister to your Francis McGinnis, II. I do have a lot of information on most of the 1/2 siblings to Francis McGinnis, II and some on his full siblings, but not nearly as much. We have compiled a lot on Francis McGinnis, William's father, too. I will be happy to share what I can with you.

Hi Cheryl,

I sent you an email with info proving that Trifena was not the mother of Francis II some time ago. Evidently you did not receive it . The William that married Trifena Taylor in Pulaski Co., Ky was the son of Alexander and Elizabeth McGinnis and the brother of Abrahm, Richard, and Alexander, Jr. This William moved on to Tennesee.

God bless,
Cousin Sherry in Kentucky

Some how I must have missed that, too... Have we ever located a given name for William's first wife? We know the names of the children, but not of the wife... Most confusing.

Correction to Francis McGinnis death date; Date posted was his 2nd wife Eleanor; According to John Monson 1878 biography book, which states that Francis' tombstone gives his death as 31 March 1886 which would, in turn, correspond with his biography dated 1878. He couldn't have died in 1870 and still be listed as owning land and giving the data for a book 12 years after his death.
Please pass around
Jerry
