Now you've got me all motivated to go digging! Gadsden indeed is an important connection. My great-grandmother -- David Patterson's wife -- was Nancy Amanda Kincaid, with siblings Louisa and T. L. At some point prior to 1900, they moved to Arkansas; they were living with my father's parents. It's poignant; my father was born Dec. 18, 1902, and two weeks later, David Patterson died. Amanda continued living in the Jimerson household until her death April 25, 1919.

My immediate notes say she and her family came from Salisbury NC, but I don't have any data on that.
