Hi all,
I was interested in this discussion re: Ezekiel Williams. I have had TWO in my database, and didn't know how, or IF, they connected. I had one born about June 1850, son of James Houston Williams and Mary Ann Sarah England. Then the other I just had "wife unknown" but with son Samuel, Samuel dying after 1866, probably in Benton Co. I had found the following reference in the Benton Co. History book, Vol. 1: "A son of Ezekial Williams, Samuel, occupied the original Williams home in 1866. He had been a slaveholder and Negro cabins were near the house on the old road SW of Cole Camp at that time. Some of his slaves remained until his death several years later". I am assuming that this Ezekiel Williams, father of Samuel, is the son of David and Sarah (Denton) Williams.
So now I have two Samuel Williamses in my database, and I'm beginning to think that they are one and the same! For this "other" Samuel Williams, I show his birth as ca. 1795-7 in Green Co., KY; death = 20 Mar 1871 in Cole Camp. His wife was Mary "Polly" GRAHAM, born 18 Jan 1796 in Green Co., KY. (I am also very interested in HER, as GRAHAM is one of my main lines in Benton Co.).
James Houston Williams (son of my "unconnected" Samuel Williams) and wife Mary Ann Sarah ENGLAND Williams, named their first son "Ezekiel" -- the one born ca. June 1850.
Comments and further discussion appreciated!
