Ancestry has allowed users to be as dumb as they want to be in regard to their trees and yet they still provided tools. Why stop now for the DNA tools? They didn't mind providing the other tools to these users. Sometimes they even provided excellent tools and great resources. Even with these tools some people made junk trees but ancestry let them. But now they want to control the tools because the user won't know how to use them and might not make wise choices. They want us to believe the users are smart enough to create trees we should utilize but not smart enough to use DNA tools. There is an inconsistency.
What will happen is if ancestry provides the best tools then some of these bright minds will do wonders with the information. And others will try their best to follow. Some will get it and some won't. Nothing new about that.
Perhaps it is more about control.
