I'm sorry Kyla - my eyes "jumped" a line when I was typing out the lineage from Stephen up

Please let me retype it correctly for you!

Stephen Lester Peer 1863-1956 m Ada Gaston
his father:
James Peer (1837-1872) m Emma Anderson
his father:
John Peer circa (1801-1888) m Mary Ann Oliphant

The rest of the lineage is on the message I posted on the Wellington Co. Ontario Canada message board

Kirsten - I too am researching Markle which has taken me as far as James Markle son of Henry "Maracle, Marrical" Markle b: 1760 in Kingston, Ulster, NY,USA & Mary Vrooman b: 7 Jan 1753. On this site: Kathy Hoeldke has postings containing this info under "The Updated Swarttwout Chronicles" & Kathy Hastings has "The Families of Hastings and Sewell, Lossing, Swartout Forest". I just ran across these this evening and thought I'd pass it on.
My connection to James Markle is as follows: James Markle ----> Virel Markle ----> James B. Markle ----> Floyd Markle ----> Clayton Floyd Markle ----> Gail Louise Markle ----> Christine (Smith) Cartwright.

Christine:

HALLELUJAH! I finally found a Markle relative! I've been searching for James' parents for years. Unfortunately the connection from James to Henry is very questionable. I have a good deal of *sourced* information on the family--and a new brother for Virel who isn't online yet. I'll send you details by direct e-mail tomorrow. (I'm so happy to have found a fellow James-searcher!)

Hello all - not sure if you'd be interested in this or not, but I just learned of my family's indirect connection to the Peers. My direct ancestor, Sarah Ann Anderson was married to a fellow stonehooker, Charles Hare, in Port Credit, ON. Sarah's younger sister was Emma Anderson, who married James Peer. Emma was from Owston Ferry, Lincolnshire, England and was the daughter of William Anderson and Isabella Laister.

Just in case it helps with any family tree searching (and also might explain Stephen Lester Peer's middle name :)
