This may or may not be of help..... a distant cousin of mine has an Humphries Genealogy site on the web that tracks some of the lineage of John & Agnes Humphries circa 1596 from England. Seems they initially landed or settled in Henrico County, VA, (mid-1600's) then moved west. Most of the detailed lineage pertains to Humphries' who settled in Alleghany County, Va near the WV border. May be of some help.
