Maybe, her death occured in 1905 in Wagga Wagga, as Mary T. BROWN, (reference from the book, Pioneers of Wagga) so she would not have been alive, in 1914 to attend her sons wedding.

If she was at the wedding in 1914, the printed material in the book of Pioneers of Wagga, has her death stated incorrectly, or it is a different Mary NEWHAM that married John BROWN in 1897 in Wagga Wagga.
