Hello Alison,
I wish I could be of help, but I see no direct connections among the Bossenberry clan I know. The closest geographical link I can find is Ponoka, where some of the descendents of Norman Charles Bossenberry from Creemore, Saskatchewan, lived when they married Ponoka spouses. A cousin of Norman's did move to Vancouver. However, I find no Alfred or Harold born in the year 1915, and no one born in Tofield. Let me know if you have luck elsewhere. Roy Keys

My grandpa was Alfred Harold but he was called Sid, as is my dad and brother, My grandpa was born in Tofield AB in 1915( my dad says) he married Beatrice Portice in or about Aug 13 1936. He owned the hotel in Parkhill, Ontairo. i'd like to find his mother and father Sidney Afred(b. oct 22,1876) and Mary Margaret (Ranche b.1895)) Any info on any of these people would be appricated. Hello Alison, My mom thought that Bossenberry's were related somehow to her family but I haven't found that yet. It was most interesting to read your message to Roy as my mom also said that her grandfather, John Schafer, owned a hotel in Parkhill. My information from a newspaper says that his sister's husband, Charles Schumacher, owned the hotel. When he died quite young John and Louisa Schafer moved from Zurich to Parkhill and he ran the hotel for his sister in the early 1900's.

Alison, re hotel in Parkhill - that could be the reason I have a funeral card of Mary Margaret Bossenberry found in my great aunt's things. She lived at home in Parkhill until marrying in her 40's. Something else my mom told me was that Bossenberry's delivered Christmas presents to my mom's family in Kitchener from Parkhill so they, Bossenberry's, must have had relatives there.

Re: information about Mary Margaret Ranche Re: Wagner, Conrad.b.Germany
Hi Alison, My mom (born 1929) would go and spend time in the summer with her grandparents when she was a fairly young girl. She remembers going to Grand Bend in her grandpa's car. The adults went to a hotel there to drink beer. Some of the townships were 'dry'. My mom and her brother would just wait outside for them. Thankfully her grandpa never learned to drive - he had a driver - so no drinking and driving. I'm sorry to say that I don't have any Bossenberry information. I had asked my mom about the funeral card when I found it and she said there was a relation to them but as I mentionedI haven't found it. Perhaps just good friends.

Hi Johanne and Alison, You may enjoy a visit to a photo gallery I have put together for my family history pictures. You can access it at http://redshift.vif.com/files. Once there, click on the name of the family you are interested in, in this case, Bossenberger. You will also find some Bossenberry burials in the Resting Places folder. Unfortunately, there are no thumbnails, so you have to click on each file in succession in order to view it. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. Roy
