I am a great great grandson of Allan the Ridge. Allan's son Donald, who had an adjoining farm in Upper South River, was my paternal Grandmother Sarah Belle's father. Sarah, the youngest child, was born on the farm(1978) and when her parents died in 1905, she sold the farm and moved to Boston.
Interestingly, she was living with her sister Margaret, when she met and married a telephone worker, Dougald MacDonald, from Upper Sprindfield, Antigonish in 1909. Dougald worked with a cousin, Kenny Chisolm, from NS and Quincy MA. I do not know anything about Dougald's family, but perhaps there is a closed loop with the Chisolm's and the "Ridges".
