My mother was Cora Lee Clements of Tuscloosa County Alabama and my grandmother was Blanche Clements. I cannot find any more information other than they moved to Bibb County Alabama. Cora was born in 1893 and is now deceased, Blanche was born in 1864 and is also deceased. Any info will be appreciated.

Samuel Jackson Clemmons (var sp) m. to Celia "Seley" Miller b. 1824-1825 S. C. Her name was pronounced See Lee but I believe it was Celia middle name maybe Malissa. They were in the 1850 Cherokee Co. Al 1860 they were in Searcy Co. Ark. Some members of this family went to Protem Mo., which is on the line close to Ozark Co. Mo. Feel like there is a connection. Haven't proven Miller as surname for "Seley" but I believe it is correct. Also a Levi Miller has a connection to this family. Would love any info if we connect...

Jill or Jan, Do either of you have Melissa Miller Clements/Clemmons parents names? Have pictures and info on where Reddick and Welphy (Grant?) Clemmons are buried will share. Melissa (Celia/Seley) (Miller?)Clemmons is buried there also.. McDaniel Cemetery, Searcy Co. Ark. I decend from Joe and Mary Griffin Clemmons. Joe is son of Samuel Jackson Clemmons and Melissa (Celia/Seley)(Miller?) Clemmons. Would love to know where Samuel Jackson Clemmons is buried. Was he perhaps killed in Civil War? Kathy

Are you positive my Lucinda Melinda Jane Clemmons is a relative? She married Samuel Miller in Cherokee Co., Alabama (I think) and then on to Arkansas and then on to Ozark Co., Missouri. I would love to find this "brick wall" family!

Thanks,
Jan Wilson

Jill,
Thanks for the info. Please email me privately. We need to correspond. I am at a brick wall with my family. "Jane's" death certificate says she was born in Alpine, North Carolina and I have contacted North Carolina and they say there has never been any such town in their state.

Thanks,
Jan

Jill,
Thanks for being so speedy!!!
My "Lucinda" Jane Clemmons was born April 11, 1924 at Alpine, North Carolina according to her death certificate. She is listed with Samuel Miller in the 1850 Cherokee Co., AL census next door to James P. and Lucy Miller both born in South Carolina. I assume these are probably Samuels gransparents. It lists Lucinda's age as 21...which is probably wrong..Says Samuel was 27 years old. They had just been married. There is an Alpine Georgia close to Rome, Georgia which is on the Alabama border. My Miller's liked border towns...HAHAHAH Any more info that might help with this Clements family?
Thanks,
Jan
