Yes, I suspect we're related. I have a cousin that I think is even a closer relative. I will forward your information to him, he was searching for information on Cyrus and Eliza Beck a few months ago and probably has a lot of information that you may be interested in. I'm coming to the Burin area in August and would love to meet you and exchange information. My trip is primarily to document all the information I can find on my Canadian family. Please email me at daclkg@copper.net if you'd like to share more information. Thanks, Doris

Hi Kim,
Have you had any luck finding information on your grandfather Gordon Brewer's parents? I would appreciate any clues you might have found during your family reunion. Thanks, Doris

According to nl.canadagenweb.org/bp_namechange.htm (Burin Peninsula) Spoon Cove is known as Epworth today. Trust this helps.
I have tried researching Huddy from Spoon Cove/Epworth but have not had any success.

Thanks for your reply. I believe we are talking about the same Huddy's, Jim & Arch were the children of William Huddy and Mary 'Melinda' (Woundy?). Other children were Pearl, Rita (married an Eric Foote from Stepaside..both died in Ontario), Thomas and John 'Walter' who married a cousin of mine. Archibald died in 1978 in Burin and the kids you mentioned were most likly his....Arch jr, Bev, Pam and possibly a son Jim??

I grew up in a fishing town in Nova Scotia and there were several Burin men who made it there home by marrying local girls....they being Randall & Edwin Brewer of Epworth s/o John & Mary; George 'Walter' Foote of Foote Cove s/o Richard & Ellen(Mayo); Joseph 'Scott' Foote of Foote Cove s/o Joseph & Susan (Mayo)who married my cousin and John 'Walter' Huddy who was the grandfather of NHL hockey player Charles Huddy to mention a few.
