Rummerfield
Middlebrooks are from England.
John Middlebrook and Hannah Harper were the first two to come to Canada.
You would know Stella Schell at Kilworthy.
Thanks

Re: MIDDLEBROOK FAMILIES IN MUSKOKA
Hi Angela:
Thanks for your query about the Middlebrook family. However, there is no aboriginal heritage contained within the line of Mary Middlebrook. Therefore, there is no reserve, tribe nor clan to research concerning this family. The Middlebrook family have English origins (Yorkshire County).
Mary Middlebrook (d/o Thomas Middlebrook & Ellen Schell) was married to Thomas Schell in 1883 at Gravenhurst.
Hope that this clarifies this family line for you.
Regards, Kevin.

Re: MIDDLEBROOK FAMILIES IN MUSKOKA
Thank you for your response Kevin. I was aware of Mary middlebrook and Thomas schell (both from Sunnidale now known as Clearview) marrying dec 11, 1883. I also know they had 12 Children.
I might of been misinformed as far as aboriginal heritage is concerned.

Re: MIDDLEBROOK FAMILIES IN MUSKOKA
Although, Middlebrook name originates in Europe, I do believe Mary Middlebrook was Native. We can not forget what residential schools did to Natives. Especially in the beginning. Natives names were taken away and given European names as part of colonization and assimilation.
My Great grandmother Hazel Schell said her father's Mother was Native.
This is a very good example of intergenerational trauma the government and religion created and the effects still go on today. Everybody is affected and they don't even realize it.
I would further look into where Mary Middlebrook came from. If at all possible at this point in time.
