The father of James Elliot Acree was Jasper Newton Acree born 1840 and mother was Mary Haley Cravens born 1844. I have picture of them together.

I also noticed that we have different information concerning Jasper's wife's name. I have in my records that she is Mary Caroline Cravens. Where does the Haley come from? Her parents names are James Cravens and Mahala White. They were married in 1838 by William Smith. Rexanne Mattei

I have also seen her name as Mary C. but assumed it stood for her maiden name. I got the name Mary Haley Cravens off of the back of the picture I have of her and Jasper Newton Acree. Its so faded that it is almost gone but it is also on the tombstone in the Acree Cemetary in Cork I believe.

I descend from William and Mariah Coomer also. Their daughter Mary Catherine born 3/17/1854 married William Wurt Mills 1/7/1876. Their daughter Lula Mae Mills married Eddie Worth Allen. Do you know who William Coomers dad was?

Sorry Bruce, but I have never been able to find who William Coomer's father was. I have him as being born in 1810 and Maria(h) in 1814. I did find them and their children in a census but where William came from I have never found out. I also never found out Maria(h)'s last name. In the census her name was spelled Maria by the way but as my great grandmother was named after her and her name was prounced Mariah (though spelled Maria) I figured William's wife's name was pronounced Mariah also. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.

Mariah Coomers' maiden name was Ashbrook I did find that out. If you would like more info on the Ashbrooks let me know.
