I live 1/2 mile west of the polo field. Where the polo field is located ,was doubleheads winter village. The house that you are referring to on the north side of 72hwy was rumered to have been built by the chief him self. It later became a stagecoach stop.Mr. Mance Pettus told me the following story around 1966. Mr. Dallas Butler was living in the house across from the polo field at the time. Mr. Butler owned all the land across the hwy that was doubleheads village. Mr. Butler spent a good part of his life ,looking for doubleheads gold. Mr. Pettus story was that some boys played a trick on Mr. Butler. They dug down by the chimney and set a wooden box in the fresh dirt to make a imprint. making the impression that someone had come while Mr.Butler was away an dug up the gold. I am not sure if anyone ever told Mr. Butler that a trick had been played on him.
