Re: Do you need look ups for Brant Co. cemeteries & marriage??
Wanda, I am looking for the father of George Wedge of Norfolk county, Ontario who married Cornellia Morden. Do you know where George or his brother William Wedge Sr was born?
Their 2 sons, Jordon and John Wedge moved to Applegate Michigan.
Thank you for your help. Fran

Re: Do you need look ups for Brant Co. cemeteries & marriage??
I need the following information: The date of death for Wilfred Lickers B: 1 Oct 1891 (Mohawk), Myrtle (Johnson) Lickers B: Apr 15 1896; Peter Johnson (husband of Lucy Claus) and Lucy Claus; Birth and death of Wilfred Lickers daughter Ethel, who she married (think it was Jesse Hill - need B: and D: where) and B and D for her three children - Lincoln, Barso, and Marion. Lucy and Peter were Seventh Day Adventist and Wilfred and Myrtle Lickers were buried at the Baptist Church on River Road on the Six Nations Reserve. Everyone mentioned above lived on the Six Nations Reserve and were all Mohawk, except for Peter who was Scotish.

Re: Do you need look ups for Brant Co. cemeteries & marriage??
Now, I looked in the Mohawk Chapel Baptisms 1878-1943 and found some Lickers but not yours but might be relatives of the Lickers family. On the Brant library genealogy site, I found Wilfred Lickers death,Mar.19,1960 and Mrytle johnson Lickers, death Jan.4, 1977 OR the was another Mrytle Lickers, death Nov.28,1977 now these might not be the actual date of death it says,it was the date entered in the vitals. So, you would have to request the info for a fee it says. I don't have the cemtery book for the Grand River Mission. I also went on the Ontario Cemetery finding aid site and did a cross check with Peter Johnson & Lucy Claus, and found, There was only one Lucy Claus in the Claus Cem., Elgin co./Bayham Twp but I don't think that is her. I did find Peter and Lucy Johnson in the Woodland Cem, Wentworth Co. Flamborough East but I don't have that book and it is not listed on the Interment Cemetery site listing either, so you would have to find someone on the ancestry.com who might have that book for them to look up. Go on the Cemetery site on here and put a request on that site too.I found one Jesse Hill in the Luton Cem., Elgin co., Malahide twp. But once again couldn't look up dates for him because I don't have the book and it is not listed on the Interment Cem. Listing either. I found a lot of Ethel Hills' but none match to that Jesse Hill in the Luton Cem. So, I can't help you out there. I couldn't find any Lincoln, Barso Hill either but they might not be dead too. I also went on the Rootsweb and typed in (1)Wilfred Lickers that you are looking for and there is a Erick Johnson researching them, you should get in contact with him, he might be able to help you out there. I did go onto the automated genealogy census and found in the 1901 Peter and Lucy Johnson in the Tuscarora district but they did a mistake and put Lucy born Oct.11, 1879 at 30 years, but 1901-1879=22 years, then in the 1911 the family was at the Haldimand area, they have Lucy born May/1873 at 38yrs. Did do some reseaching for you but didn't find anything, other than different Lickers, Claus, Johnson and Hills' that might be relatives to you line. Good luck Geraldine

Re: Do you need look ups for Brant Co. cemeteries & marriage??
I tried going through your e-mail that you put below your question but it got sent back to me. The only Wedge I could find was in the Norwich Village cemetery, and it was spelled WEGE. Johanna /Droogers /V.D Wege/1893-1980/Willem C. /Droogers/1895-1984. I went on the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid site and found 108 WEDGE's on there and there mostly found the Kent, Middlesex, Welland, and Wentworth area. There are some web sites you can try to find them or others on the Ontario Vitals http://www.rootsweb.com/~onvsr it has 4 Wedge's on the Deaths, 4 on the Births, and 65 on the marriages. The cemetery web sites you might want to try are http://freepages.history.roots.com/~clifford/CemList.htm and http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dcoop/index.htm and then www.interment.net Sorry I couldn't find any Wedge's for you in my books Good Luck! Re: Do you need look ups for Brant Co. cemeteries & marriage??
Hello, my great grandparents were Robert Doxstader Dennis and Charlotte Martindale. She died in Brant in 1895 after the birth of my grandfather Clarence Clayton Dennis. He had a brother Audrey Doxstader Dennis.
I can find the death record for Charlotte Martindale but can not find the marriage record for Robert Dennis and Charlotte Martindale.

Re: Do you need look ups for Brant Co. cemeteries & marriage??
Hi Mary, I went through my books and didn't find anything. So I did some research for and you I couldn't find them in any census or on the Ont. Vitals and the Ontario Cemetery finding aid. Then finally I found something on the Brantford site, www.rootsweb.com/~onbrant/biosbran2.htm and If you scroll all the way down to you see Sumler,James and below it is W.H. Sumler s/o James. When you read it, he came to Canada in 1835 and then to Brantford in 1838 with his parents George & Jane. James married Lucy Cropp who is from England too. They maybe buried in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, but I don't have that book and it is not complete listing on the www.interment.net, so you some just get in contact with the Brantford genealogy group and they should be able to help you out Or go onto the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness, www.raogk.org/ontario.htm and someone maybe able to help you out with a free lookup of for a some fee. Good Luck! Geraldine
