Hi Maggie,

I saw your most recent post. The Torresdale vicinity is a stunning neighborhood from what I recall when I was eight, my family once visited the interior of Michael O'Rourke's Torresdale summer home, now the rectory. Marble bathrooms with crystal doorknobs and horse hair installation, what a jaw dropping experience.

Yes, you are correct, I am related to Michael O'Rourke (we reference him as "Michael One"), he is my great-great grandfather. My great-grandfather was his son, Michael O'Rourke, who married Mary Judith Donahue. My grandmother, Margaret recalls playing in the basement of the 3330 G Street mansion.

Thank you for your most helpful links. I do not have an account with ancestry.com and would love to see what ancestry.com has in their archives.

Among the many on-going questions on the O'Rourkes - one being, my parents lost the rubbing from Michael One's headstone in Killeshandra, County Cavan, Ireland. Which has his date of birth. We know he passed in March 1st, 1910, unfortunately, do not know his birth.

My goal is to reconnect with the O'Rourkes and the Donahues.

In the attached photo, Michael, is the second to the left. We suspect the gentleman on the far left is his son, Francis Xavier, who we believe was an engineer.

Kate
