My name is Christine Elsey and my grandmother's maiden name was Isabelle Sangster (born circa 1901) and she had 2 older sisters Lou and Jean. Their father was a sea captain (of a sailing cargo ship) from Guysborough Nova Scotia, and I think his name was Joseph. I will check to make sure. But he must have died around 1910. The interesting part is that my grandmother told me (she died when I was 19), that her family was descended from the United Empire Loyalists. I write as I know that is what you are looking into.

I have a book called Guysborough Sketches and Essays which I borrowed from the library (had to get it from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, and on pg 399 and 400 it lists the Harts and gives 9 children for Josiah Hart one being Jarius born 17 Feb 1769 and he married Frances Godfrey 21 Dec 1795 and after his death his widow married a Mr. Oates. There is more information. Is this what you might be looking for? Mary Morris

Hi have not put geneology online but my grandmother was a Sangster from Gysborough and descended from United Empire Loyalists. Her father was a Captan (I think) George Sangster and owned a sailing vessel for cargo and was in shipping. My grands name was Hattie Isabelle and her older sisters were Lou and Jean.

Hi Jack, It's been awhile since I checked on my Sangster Line. John and Isabella had at least 2 children: Isabella Mehitabel b. 21 Jun 1805 and Michael b. 07 Oct. 1807. I don't have anymore info on them. After Joseph died in 1775 Margaret Mann married Edward Kergan(Carrogan) Oct 26 1786 and they had 2 children: Margaret b. 1797 d. 18 Jan.1872 married Rufus Whitman 02 Feb 1813 and Catherine Born or died(I don't have that info) married Michael Flynn 28 Mar 1815. That is all the info I have on them. Hope this helps you.
