I have some photos of old Somerset in digital form that I could e-mail to you - an aerial photo, the school, the park....I just need your e-mail address. I agree that the "ruins" of the town seem smaller than the town actually did when I lived there....the houses, the "city" blocks, all seem impossibly small. When I walk between my former home and my friends', the distances seem much shorter than they did back then. I suppose part of that is just having grown up and moved away, but there does seem to be an optical illusion at work...perhaps the absence of the trees which lined nearly every street.
