Here is some info about the James Wiley Hodges that was on the Sultana.. He married Martha J. Hooper/Householder March 7, 1869 and had Ida in 1870, Frances in 1873 Effie in 1881 and Robert in 1884. James Wiley's parents names were Edmond Hodges and Sara McCroskey. My mom told me the story about how his friend didn't make it home but he came back and married Martha. So I know I have the right man but I don't think you do...unless James Wiley had another family before Martha came into the picture.
