I would call the Dewitt library and see if they know the name of the newspaper in town at that time. They may have them on microfilm and know of someone who could look it up for you.

I have an obituary from 1906 of my great grandfather's death. I had help getting that one, but passed on the favor by finding anther person's great great grandfather's obituary from a 1903 newspaper from Faulkner County, AR...which I found in our library.
