Can anyone out there explain to me why Thomas Chappell, mentioned above, who came to Virginia in 1635 and settled in Charles City County, isn't a Qualifying Ancestor for the Jamestowne Society? Just curious as I thought the qualifications were that they owned land, or who had domiciles in Jamestowne, or on Jamestowne Island, prior to the year 1700.
