Hi Daniel, took a year break from my hunt for Marcottes. The ones in my past that is.

still hoping o find a connection to my gr.grandfather Georges Ludger Marcotte and his parents...he is beleived by some to be son of Catherine Houle. she may have been N.Am. or metis and used surname of family she lived with.

Ludger came to the upper peninsula of MI in mid 1800's from Canada. I believe Quebec. Married an Eliza Roy in Houghton MI. Cannot find any trace of her but less than five yrs. later he married Leocadie Dulong. Leocadies parents moved between Canada and NY state and she was born in NY state. They as well as Ludger and Leocadie settled in the Houghton MI area until their deaths.
