As the world's foremost genealogist on Sir John's ancestors and descendants, I would be interested in knowing how you are a direct descendant from Sir John. His great-grandson, Hugh Alexander George Macdonald Gainsford is the last surviving descendant of Sir John as his children were adopted; hence, the lineage stops at Hugh.
