Thanks! Our branches join way back at Richard. I descend from his son Benjamin and you from Joseph if I have this figured out correctly.
This will give me some fun seeing where Joseph and family journeyed.
From Richard right down to me, my branch of the Chamberlain's did not stay put in any one place for too long.

To cool. So glad you saw my post. Very exciting finding a person who is alive and might have some history to share.

If you have an interest, I will give you a very short outline from Richard to me.

Yes I'd like that if you don't mind. I'd liked to see it tied into my tree. I haven't got anything new in years.
|
OK, I'll send something within a week.

Do you have anything past Richard cause if not I can go through what I have and send it to you. I have so many chamberlain branches I have let to follow. Little leaves everywhere. At first I just followed as far as I could go, now I need to branch it out. I took my Porter name back to like year 1000.

I have little on Richard or his sons. For Richard's father, John and grandfather John/Jean, I have only birth years and countries born in. Nothing else. I would appreciate anything you could send. Some claim the Chamberlain's can be tracked back to coming over to England with William the Conqueror from Tankerville, but that seems to be sketchy.
Also, I am interested in how Richard's descendants moved around in what is now the USA. Some seem to have stayed put, but most I have found seemed quite adventurous. If you have tracked a branch or two and can share where they drifted over time, I would love the info.
Thanks, Kevin.

I will see what I can find. I did run into a tankerville and that's where I hit a dead end.

What is the birth year for Richard. Want to make sure I track the right one. I'll see if I can track where his family moved around too. I have records and stuff to add but need to start paying for the services again.

Most sources have Richard born in England anywhere between 1608 and 1618, and in the colonies by 1631 (or earlier). Looks like father John died in the Colonies, moving here after Richard got settled.
