Coon: This comes from the Neff family story. Samuel Archie "Coon" Milwee's Mother, Mary Ann Sprouse McAbee Milwee, had a daughter, Mahala McABee born 1854 who married John Neff 1876 Lee Co. VA....they moved on to Texas and New Mexico. At a family reunion years and years ago, the info about him being called Coon was told and written down by a family historian. The Neffs are buried about 30 miles from me. 1870 Samuel A. is listed as a McAbee and his Daddy as S.G. Mulwee. 1880 his Dad is dead, Mother remarried and widowed, and he's listed as Coon.

1900 census he's shown as Sam A., 1910 Samuel, 1920 SAmuel A., 1920 Samuel. On 1900 census his wife, Martha, states she has given birth to 6 kids with 3 living. The 3 that were born and died from the date of their marriage 1889 to the 1900 census are John R., Serilda, Robert....all died as kids. At least one of these 3 (from memory) are buried at the Wyrick Cem.
