I went on a search for this cemetery for a Find A Grave request. I found the physical description listed in Henry Co no longer accurate, but the grid coordinates helped me find it. It is in deplorable condition in the woods. Most of the once very nice large limestone markers are broken in half and lying in the weeds. Only a few are face up. When the church moved into the town of Locust Grove it was abandoned, and never tended to. If you go to the findagrave web site and search for the cemetery, you will see the pictures that I posted. Click on the pictures and read the captions I entered with them. I had planned to go back with someone to help me clean them a little & put them face up to be read, but haven't been back. A few of the graves are open holes. Questioned whether by intent or robbed, as the ground does not sink 6 ft. deep in a square. The graves of Doc Hollidays family are known to be in there. I tried to capture their markers. The land had been sold off in the late 1880s to early 1900s. I stopped to talk with a local farmer in his 80s, while on my search. He said the wealthy family which bought a lot of the land in that area at least 2-3 generations back now have a great or grand daughter who is living on the property. Most of these farmers living in the area worked on the owners farm land. Following the grid coordinates from henry co., I ventured up a dirt drive way at those grid coordinates, and spoke to the lady of the house. She was willing to let me search the woods behind the her home, as she said her children had discovered one back there. You have to walk a ways into the woods. It is so overgrown, with vines everywhere, but stones that once outline the cemetery and a couple of the very large stones stand above the vegetation.
