I am relisting my original post here in response to your inquiry...thanks for any help you can offer.

I am in search of my gggg grandfather's family. His name was John W. Knowles. He was born July 4, 1749 in Ballymena, Antrim, Echotel Parish, Ireland. John W. Knowles came to America prior to the Revolutionary War and became a Revolutionary Soldier. He is burried in White County, TN. Any information regarding him or his family in Ireland would be appreciated. I am led to believe that his family came to Ireland from Scotland, but am uncertain of that. I am certain of his date of birth, July 4, 1749 in Ballymena. My last name is Hembree, but long story short, I am actually a KNOWLES. Thanks for any help!
