Brody,

I don't know how I missed this message, but I did. You are not a distant cousin, but a first cousin twice removed. Your grandfather and I are first cousins. My mother, Essie "Waneta" Ewart and your great grandfather, Everett Ewart, were brother and sister. You are my daughter, Jennifer Aimee Christianne Keesling's second cousin once removed. I did ask your grandfather for a copy of the front of the family bible which was not available because he thought it was too fragile.

I have done quite a bit of research on the Ewarts back to Joseph, Josiah's father. The Ewart family was quite prominent in Akron, Ohio, from where Josiah migrated. The Ewarts, to my surprise migrated from Northern Ireland. I had always been told they were Scots. I speculate that they were driven from Scotland to Ireland based on religious beliefs. They appear to have been Protestants which tracks with their burial place in the Akron area. They never assimilated into the Catholic population in Northern Ireland according to other sources. If you would like to continue communicating with me, my email address is jjrosselle@aol.com. I hope your father and grandfather are in the best of health. Perhaps we have information which could be of help in locating our European relatives.
Janet
