Isn't it insane when we miss the obvious. I have that census record but didn't put 2 and 2 together. Thanks for pointing this out. The article was written in the Napanee Express on Feb. 28th, 1928 and was the story by Maggie Huffman Gibbs. It states that, "... Gibson Carleton, died after we settled near Harlowe...". All of her children except son George Carleton and Rachel Carleton were born in Ontario.
I have visited the cemeteries in Kennebec but again some of the tombstones were illegible.
