New information from family, new to me anyway, says the man I am looking for is not Henry but Friedrich Behnke, born 1843, came to New Ulm Township, Brown county, Minnisota, filed a declaration of intent for citizenship and noted that he arrived in America on Dec. 6, 1861. He filed on May 25, 1972 his intent. Germans to America has Friedrich coming here in May 25, 1868 on the ship John Bertram. He first was in Wisconsin, according to family, then is found on the 1870 Minnisota census in Brown County, New Ulm Township. He was married to Juliah Borsack, some say Borushe, born in 1850 in Germany. He had 11 children. Ella Betye, Anna Marig, twin of Emma Louise, Wilhelm Fredrich, Georg Albert, Herman Wilhelm, Benjamin Gustof, twin of Samuel Heinrich, Mathilda Adline, Baby May and Infant. I have more information on the children and their families. In 1888 the family moved to Oregon, residing in Tigard, near Portland. Is there someone who can translate the first part of your post? Marriage date etc. Where did you find this information? I am looking for more brothers and sisters.
