I have a feeling that my great-great grandfather, David A. Booze was related to the family from Bucks county, Pennsylvania. This was a brick wall for me for a long time, because my dad had no information on him at all except his last name, and that it had been changed, which I found to be not true.
David's parents were David Booz (no "e") and Sarah Jane Powers, who married in St. Louis on October 28, 1848 before moving to Macoupin county, Illinois. David was born Nov. 6th the next year; Sarah died 13 days later, and David, Sr. took off for Sacramento, where he re-married and showed up in October, 1850 (1850 census) with wife and 14 year old son. That means he must have been married before. The census shows that both he and his son were born in Pennsylvania, another clue. Also, I believe David lost another daughter at age 1, Sarah E. Booz in Illinois in August, 1849, as she shows up in the Mortality schedule. He died in Sacramento 8 days after the census, Nov. 5, 1850, of cholera.
Does anyone have anything that might connect David to the Solebury area families?
