The tales are many and some very colorful. One is that Mary Eaton left when she and Obe divorced with the kids and headed south to join a wagon train headed west and when they got to Myron one of the twin boys died she wouldn't go any farther. She and the kids built a house there outside of Myron. The house was still standing a few years ago, In fact I have a picture of same.
Another one is that Obe ran with the jesse James Gang and that was the reason that Mary left.
