I noticed your post from numerous years ago and that you refer to Thomas Gist born about 1735, son of Christopher & Sarah. I am the fifth g granddaughter of that Thomas Gist. We are:
Elizabeth Johnston Gist married Andrew McCune, their son:
Andrew McCune, Jr. m. (forgot her name but i have it), their son: John B. McCune (boat captain)(2nd marriage to Tresa Allen) their son: Walter Scott McCune m. Maggie Melvinia Wilson and had my grandmother: Arra Isabell McCune who married: Earl Estes Bryant who had my mom: Geraldine Bryant who married my father Robert W. Mulledy.

I have read postings by Cecil Cromwell that assert their may have been other children of Thomas Gist (though his will written prior to his trip down the Mississippi makes only referrence to my realative Elizabeth Johnston Gist. Unfortunately to daate we have not found any formal marriage certificate for Thomas Gist and his wife (assumed by some to be Elizabeth Johnston, but definitely not proven) I do hope you receive this and will right back to me.
