Harry E. Tilley died in Yakima 1 Sept. 1987. Could you find an obituary for him? (if this message is repeated, sorry -- first one didn't go through).
Thanks for the help.

Could you do a lookup on a death record for a Jane Murdock Harvie. Born about 1833 in London, married in Nova Scotia and then died on April 8, 1915 in Yakama, Washington.

She went to Nova Scotia, not sure when and married William Harvie on May 6, 1850. They had 9 children, he died and is buried in NS in 1887. Jane then went to Washington at some point. About 4 of he 5 children also went and are buried in or near Yakima.

I am in need of her parents names on her record. I don't neccessarily need a copy of it. Her father was a Benjamin Murdock. My Great, Great, Great Grandfather was a Benjamin Murdock born in NS about 1796. Seems he went to
England...married(?) and had a James in 1825, a John in 1827 and Jane in 1833. He then went to the US, not sure about his wife. In the 1850 US census James and John were in NY as ship carpenters. On the 1860 US census Ben and John were next door farmers in Port Huron, Michigan. They moved to the est of Michigan and both are buried in Berrien Springs...Ben died in 1874, John died in 1903. On Ben's death record there are no parents listed :( would have solved another brick wall! On John's it says his mother was a Martha Conum. Now that could be spelled wrong...might be a Corum or Coram.

Maybe it will be all pulled together on Jane's death record!

Thanks for your help

Surnames: Harvey
As you can see by the obituary and the index card from the Yakima Genealogical Library, her last name was also spelled Harvey, and that Shaw and Sons Funeral Home did have part in shipping her back to Nova Scotia. I called Shaw and Sons to get a record, but the woman who helps with genealogy was out on vacation. But, she will give me a call some time next week when she gets back and I will be able to give you further information. The funeral records will most likely have her mother's maiden name.

Also, I thought I would mention that when I was at the genealogical library, there was a whole file folder about the Harvey family line that someone else had researched and contributed. I wasn't sure if it had anything to do with your line, especially since it was spelt HarvEY and not HarvIE. I can make a copy of this folder if you want me to.

Thanks so very much for doing all this for me!

Can't wait to find out what we find from her death record....especially about her Mother's name and maybe exactly where she was born in England.

I would love copies of the info on the family...might be interesting reading. Maybe copies of what you added as an attachment here...they were hard to read when I pulled them up...never knew you could add attachments on these posts...learn something new every day!

You can also email me at Clannessie@aol.com

Thanks so very much,
Karen
