Hi Debbie
Thank you so much for all the work you are putting into this for me!
I'm really glad that you furnished the film number and the name of the film.
Hopefully you will find out who Alva/Alvah's parents were or who his siblings might have been. It seems like Bronson/Brunson was a popular name in CT, way back then.
Again, thank you.
Sue

Do you have marriage record for Fannie Hall Reynolds m; Levi Phelps b. 25 Jan 1786 Windsor Locks, Hartford Co., CT;. d. 7 Jul 1825 Somer, CT. I don't have her birth date, but her parents died on the ship "Venture" traveling to Weathersfield, CT (19 July 1789,) to see her granparents. She was born a day or so before the ship was destroyed in a violent storm. A sailor clinging to debris heard her crying & saved her. He delivered her to her grandparents after being rescued. Her mother was Matilda Hall & father Joshua Reynolds. Her grparents were Benjamin Hall & Elizabeth of Somers, CT. They raised her. No further info on her, just the Phelps family. Levi & Fannie were my gr,gr,gr,gr grandparents. Any info appreciated. Cindy

I have a brick wall. Ira and Lucinda Hotchkiss's daughter Emeline married a Curtiss. Emeline's daughter and son's death certificate s state that their father
s name was Chester. When Emeline dies in 1899 someone submitted the name of Thomas as her deceased husband. I found property in Bristol records deeded to Emeline and Chester circa 1829 from both Lucinda Hotchkiss and Thomas Curtiss. Thomas's deed states that he gives to his son Chester....I have never been able to find a paper trail on Emeline Hotchkiss b. 1809 or Chester Curtiss. Their daughter Jane's wedding to Benjamin Wade of Hartford is recorded as the family being from Bristol. Can't find any mention of Chester's demise but he does not appear on the 1850 census in Hartford where Emeline shows up with her three children and Lucinda. The deed from Thomas to Chester in Bristol has been my only thread as well as Lucinda's deed to her daughter Emeline. It has been a puzzle that I find no birth or death records for Emeline's husband Chester Curtiss or Emeline's children Alfred, Ira or Jane in the 1820's early 1830's and no record of Chester after the 1830 census.

Any help or direction you could send me would be appreciated.
Martha

I have access to the historical issues of The Hartford Courant and found 2 articles on Chester Curtiss::

Married in Sharon on April 8, 1823, Mr Chester Curtis and Miss Emeline Cartright.

May 13, 1828-Notice of property belonging to Chester Curtiss, in Bristol, being sold for unpaid taxes.
