I may be one of the descendents of your grandfather. I traced my family roots back to Jack Gaskins. It says that he was born in 1862 in Florida or perhaps South Carolina, but it says that his parents were most likely from South Carolina. Sometimes they make mistakes, so that could also have been Florida instead. Can you let me know if you have found any Jacks in your grandfather's family tree? Have a lovely day.
