Hi Jeff,
I too am just trying to find my way, what information I have is from a now deceased aunt and my father. So what information I am getting is trying to unravel some of the history books and from folks just like you who may have even more info than myself.
Most of our information is found with the DAR as our ancestor is definately a member of the militia, John Slaymaker served with Col. John Boyds' 7th Battalion of Lancaster Co. Militia, in 1777, which was General Braddocks' Campaign, and was in the Skermish at Chestnut Hill under Gen. Bull.
What information I have as I said I have gleaned from the Dar and relatives my grandmother was a Slaymaker she married a Shelden and then it goes on from their, I would have given my right arm for the book or a copy their of, as I understand the book is out of print and those who have them hold onto them who would blame them.
The person that I am actively trying to fill in the blanks on is Elizabeth White and MAry Willever of Pa.
If you ever run across anything will you email me please at
