In terms of how these old timers knew all this? One of the old timers, Willie Sanders was step-kin to William Bolin (Harvey's supposed father). Let me try to remember....Willie's father married Mag Bolin, who was the daughter of Bud (a.k.a. Henry) Bolin, who was a brother of William Bolin. Willie Sanders said he worked with "Uncle Will" at the mill at Huntsville. Willie also mentions "Uncle Cal" and another that I can't recall at the moment, but definitely indicates the sons of Jeremiah. Some of the detail on Willie's exact kinship might be a little blurry, here, but I know he called William Bolin "Uncle Will" (even though I"m pretty certain he was a generation further back), and it was clear from other names he mentioned - esp. Cal and Bud - that these brothers were the sons of Jeremiah.
