HI to all my Kilgore cousins,

MOST of those Kilgores (probably at least 80% of them or more) descends from a Stephen Kilgore, who married a Rebecca Salyer and moved to the area around Chattanooga, TN., around the year 1800, give or take a couple of years!

Until recently, we did not know anything about this Stephen Kilgore but we now know he was the son of Robert Kilgore and Winnie Clayton, both of them being from NC and then southwest Virginia.

There are quite a few marriages between these Kilgore descendants of Stephen and the Lain/Layne family of the Marion County, TN., area also.
