I don't know if you remember me or not. You wrote a reply to a post MANY years ago about the Harriman family.
I can not believe it took me this long to get back to you and I am SO SORRY for the delay! I have just been going in a different direction and have not been doing any Genealogy work in several years.

Your Charles Harriman was my husbands Grandfather as well. My husband is Joseph Harriman Jr. His mother is LaQuita Kitchens Newell. She is still living in Sand Springs OK.
I have traced Charles back to the Stephen Harriman's from Tenn.
I have the original Social Security application records for Charles that has his parents names on it. I have also traced him and his parents in the census records to Ark.
His father Joseph was married to

Joseph Harriman (my husband) 1953
Joseph Harriman 1929
Charles H. Harriman 1899-1982
Joseph Herriman (Ark)1849 m.1874
Steven Herriman (Tenn) about 1825
Joseph Herriman b. about 1795 in Ill or Ohio

Notice that the spelling of the name was changed by Charles. I think this happened when he moved from Ark to OK
I don't now if you already have this information or not, but hope it helps you. I may have more info on Stephen, but would have to do some major digging. I think I even have a photo of him and his family somewhere??? Would take some time to dig it up.
