Naomi,
(evidently, Elizabeth is the wife of Taylor Wood. Is Taylor their son?)
I HAVE WILLIAM HENRY TAYLOR WOOD AS A SON OF WILLIAM PERRY WOOD, AND WIFE JANE BARNES, BORN IN 1847. HE MARRIED ELIZABETH O. LONG CA. 1871.
Do I have the right marriage for Jemima? The Jackson Co., NC records have Jemima Hooper (21) m. Govan Woods(21) (b. 1862) 16 Sep 1883. Jack William Hooper was the bondsman. Wendell Hooper has Jemima born 2 Apr 1833. Since Andrew & Margaret were not married until 14 Oct 1837, Wendell's Jemima must not be their daughter.
I HAVE JEMIMA'S BIRTHDATE AS 1862, PER THE JACKSON COUNTY MARRIAGE BASE RECORDS.
In the 1880 census, Jemima Hooper, age 25, was "sister-in-law" and living with John & Laura E. Wike.
IF JEMIMA HOOPER WAS JOHN WIKE'S SISTER-IN-LAW, THEN LAURA E. WIKE MUST HAVE BEEN A HOOPER--EXCEPT FOR THE VARIATION IN BIRTH DATES, THIS INFORMATION FITS IN PERFECTLY WITH THE FAMILY OF ANDREW AND SARA ELIZABETH WOODRING HOOPER.
I did find a Jemima Johnson in 1910 census in Henderson Co., NC, with a dau, Ethel, the right age.
YES, I THINK THIS IS THE SAME FAMILY.
Where did I get a child, Jim Glover Wood, for her?
THIS I DO NOT KNOW.
Dan
