Yes the Mercer's are hard people to find they must be shy, LOL
My Sister Pearl Bradbury know's more about the Mercer's than I do, as she is searching the Mercer' & Deering side of the family, while I am searching the Petten's & the Pottle's.
Pearl has posting's on here so you beabble to find her, as well I will mention it to her.

Actually, I originally thought that this part of the family came from Bay Roberts, but from what I've dug up more recently, it seems fairly certain that they lived in Upper Island Cove. So it's probably a different family altogether.

Now Bradbury is definitely a name I'm connected to in Bay Roberts. My grandmother's sister, Martha Coombs married Ray Bradbury. They lived in the two-storey house stuck right between the two churches.

Message here is to Mr. George Fred Clark, in particular, because of his reference to being connected to Emily Clarke Crane (nee Summers) of Flatrock. You are therefore a relative of my spouse and thus it would be a pleasure to connect with you if you are interested in doing so?

UC would be United Church (of Canada). It's different from United Church of Christ. It formed when the Methodist and Presbyterian (and a couple of other) denominations merged in 1925.

My great grandfather was Joseph Mercer who married Annie ? she died 1905 and he subsequently married Emily Crane (Clarke) (Summers). His daughter from Annie was my grand mother, Sarah. She married David Brown from Tilton. The issue we are having is we can't find who Joesph married....Annie or Ann and no last name. I have the info on all of their children, most of who died young. ....any help would be appreciated, it was interesting about Emily. It must have been hard, she went thru 3 husbands. My dad remembers here, sitting in a barrel shaped rocking chair

Thanks...Roger
